Consolidated Bank Ghana LTD. (CBG) and its Head of Corporate Communications, Marketing and Brands, Madam Mavis Frempong, have received recognition at the 37th Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) Annual National Marketing Performance Awards, with honours in the campaign and individual categories.

The Bank’s CBG Electroland Promo won the Below-the-Line award, while Madam Frempong was named Marketing Practitioner of the Year. The ceremony, held at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra, recognized marketing achievements for the 2025 assessment year.

The recognition places CBG’s promotional work in the national spotlight, drawing attention to the role of targeted campaigns in connecting financial institutions with customers and the wider public.

Below-the-line marketing typically uses direct, audience-focused engagement rather than relying solely on mass advertising. For banking institutions, this approach provides opportunities to explain services, respond to customer questions and make brand interactions more relevant to everyday needs.

The CBG Electroland Promo’s success therefore provides a platform to highlight customer engagement as an important part of the banking experience, bringing the brand beyond advertising and into more direct contact with the people it serves.

Madam Mavis Frempong, Head of Corporate Communications, Marketing and Brands, received the Marketing Practitioner of the Year award, accompanying the Bank’s campaign recognition at the same ceremony.

Held on the theme “Brand Ghana Reimagined: Trust, Innovation and Growth in the AI Economy,” the awards brought together businesses and marketing professionals to recognize achievements across sectors and highlight marketing’s contribution to brand development and organizational growth.

The ceremony recognized winners in over 60 categories.

The theme provided a wider context for CBG’s recognition: the importance of building brands through trust, relevant communication and meaningful engagement. In banking, these principles underline the need to make information understandable and customer interactions useful, while maintaining a consistent connection with the public.

For CBG, the two honours mark recognition at both the institutional and individual practitioner levels, placing its marketing and communications activities among the Bank’s achievements in contributing to the nation’s progress.
