To support communities affected by recent floods, Consolidated Bank Ghana LTD. (CBG) has donated relief items to the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) headquarters, the Ablekuma North Municipal Assembly and the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, all in Accra. 

The donation included mattresses, mosquito nets, blankets, bags of rice, bags of sugar, buckets, detergents and other essential household items. At the presentation, Dr. Naomi Wolali Kwetey, Managing Director of Consolidated Bank Ghana LTD, reaffirmed the Bank's commitment to assisting those impacted by the floods and complementing NADMO and the Assembly's efforts to respond to the victims. 

She emphasized that the donation is part of the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and reflects its solidarity with families and communities affected by the recent disasters. “While we recognize that these items cannot fully address the magnitude of the challenges faced, we sincerely hope they will provide some comfort, restore hope, and contribute to the recovery and rebuilding efforts of the affected communities,” she stated. 

Receiving the items on behalf of NADMO, the Director General, Major (Rtd) Dr. Joseph Bikanyi Kuyon expressed gratitude to Consolidated Bank Ghana LTD. for the generous support. He called for the Bank’s continued assistance, particularly in preventive measures, as disaster management is a continuous process rather than a one-time event.  

He urged CBG to collaborate with NADMO to strengthen disaster preparedness and response efforts across the country, assuring the Bank that the donated items would be distributed to affected families to help alleviate their difficulties. 

The Municipal Chief Executive for Ablekuma North, Hon. Adamu Musah Kalamu, commended CBG for being the first institution to present such support to the Assembly. He highlighted the substantial impact this assistance will have on the community, as over 6,000 individuals were affected by the floods.

Hon. Felix Odartey Lamptey, the Municipal Chief Executive for the Weija-Gbawe Municipality, thanked CBG for the kind gesture and assured Management that the items would be distributed to the affected families.

He urged other organizations to follow suit by contributing to the community’s welfare, highlighting how the gesture will improve the livelihoods of the affected.
